She began her career in the mortgage industry in 2002 as a Mortgage Administrator before progressing into underwriting roles with both prime and specialist lenders. This experience gave her a strong technical foundation in lender criteria, risk assessment, and the full mortgage lifecycle , insight she now brings directly to her clients.

How you found the training and support when you first joined the finance family?
I joined at the start of March 2026, around seven months ago, coming from a network. I received a call the very next morning after applying and was immediately impressed by Athina’s approach and relaxed nature. This was followed by a meeting with Kevin, and to this day he has been the most no‑nonsense manager/director I’ve come across. He answered all my questions in a transparent way with no fluffy talk or hidden fees. I genuinely wondered if it was too good to be true, but he even put everything in writing at my request to avoid confusion later down the line.
Kevin also trained me and introduced me to the system, which was my biggest concern. I wanted a user‑friendly setup that captured fact‑finds and documents clearly and transparently, without wasting time completing mammoth suitability letters. To my relief, Acre/NowScore was a game‑changer — the most difficult part became the easiest.
I also received training from Craig on the protection side. His approach was again no‑nonsense, no time‑wasting, and focused on delivering the right service for clients. He explained key concepts clearly and in a way that was easy to understand. I applied this approach and it completely changed how I advised on protection. Every mortgage case I’ve converted has included protection — not as a sales tactic, but because I genuinely believe it’s a necessity for the client and must be delivered correctly.
The training doesn’t end there, it’s continuous. Support from the lovely Louise has been invaluable. She handholds us through cases to ensure we achieve sign‑off. There is no rushing; the ethos is clear: take your time and get it right. No one is standing over you criticising your work — the support here is second to none. I only wish I had met the team a few years earlier.
What would you say you’ve benefited from most since becoming part of The Finance Family?
The biggest benefit for me has been the ongoing, continuous support from Louise within the operations team. The ability to reach out with complex cases and always receive clear, practical guidance has made a huge difference to my confidence and the quality of my advice.
Alongside this, Athina’s exceptional people skills and marketing expertise have helped me generate strong organic leads. Her support has been instrumental in building momentum and consistency in my pipeline.
Now that you’re settled in, how are you finding things?
I’m really enjoying it. Now that I’m fully settled in, For the first time I can focus on writing business and giving advice without being pulled in different directions. The admin support has been brilliant — it saves a huge amount of time on chasing and processing, which means I can concentrate on clients and growing my pipeline. In my first six months I wrote a personal best in written business, and the earning capacity is already showing itself.
